HER is an ongoing series that began in 2015 with two images based on Henrietta Lacks's story.  These images were created using 10,000 photos we took of her cervical cancer cells from the 1950's on the microscope (HeLa cells).  Images were printed using organic carbon, the molecule that cells and life is composed of.

Henrietta and Life After Death were shown at the Waterfall Mansion and Gallery as part of The Need for My Care show in 2016.  All proceeds from the sales are donated back to cancer research.

This work was expanded to create the pink cancer awareness ribbon as a tribute for research project support from the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The mosaic was created using 90 histological slides from breast cancer patients.

More information about these images can be found on Artsy, as well as on Tal Danino's BCRF Instagram Takeover.
