Coexistence, 2019
Coexistence envisions a future beyond the Anthropocene era, where humans are argued as the main threat and cause for global geological change. In this imaginary epoch, microbes are the only remaining species on earth; constructing and inhabiting cities at vast scales. The narrative in this series follows the life of microbes as they communicate with one another, compete for resources, and evolve together in larger communities, all of which can all be observed through their unique growth. As the microbe’s population in their 'cities', or space of existence, increase over time, they eventually evolve into a permanent state of co-existence.
Coexistence was exhibited at Zurcher Gallery in New York City, May 2019.
